Planning and Monitoring Unit

Formulation of various operational plans to perform  duties and responsibilities that  have been mandated by the National Environmental Act; in consultation with relevant Divisions, Units, Provincial offices of the CEA and getting implemented of them in order to  achieve objectives in establishing the Central Environmental Authority are the main responsibilities of the Planning & Monitoring Unit.


  • Construct  baseline data, define types and sources of data needed and the method of data collection and link with data sources ???

  • Formulating and updating Corporate Plan of the CEA

  • Prepare operational plans for each thematic area, externally funded projects and any other interventions based on the Mid Term Work Programme and the Corporate & Annual plans of the CEA

  • Develop monitoring plans

  • Ensure inter-divisional and Center/Regional coordination

  • Prepare progress reports for  various supervisory bodies i.e. MENR, ERD, and MPD etc.

  • Prepare Annual Reports of the CEA

  • Coordinating with international donor agencies and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordination of oversight committee meetings at Head Office for granting environmental approvals

  • Coordination of management committee of the CEA

  • Monitoring and evaluation
