National Electronic Waste Management Week 2020 From 5th October to 10th October

The Central Environmental Authority and the Postal Department of Sri Lanka have jointly declared the week from 5th October to 10th October as the “National Electronic Waste Management Week - 2020”, to commemorate the World Postal Day. During this period of one week, a program to collect electronic waste covering the entire island is to be implemented under the theme of “ A Breathing Country, Sri Lanka, free of Electronic Waste”

The inauguration program was held on 5th October 2020 at the Post Office, Cinnomon Garden, Colombo – 07. Under the distinguished participation of Hon. Mahinda Awaraweera, Minister of Environment the program was declared. Mr. Ranjith Ariyarathne, Post Master General, Mr. S. Amarasinghe, Chairman, CEA, Mr. Hemantha Jayasinghe, Director General, CEA and other senior officers from CEA and the Postal Department participated in this occasion.

This program was sponsored by Sri Lanaka Telecome & Mobitel.
