Mr. Isura Dewapriya, Chariman CEA ordered to re-export the hazardous waste to the originated Country

The waste imported from UK, which was stored in the Industrial Zone, Katunayake has been filled into 333 containers to re-export to the country of origin. As per Mr. Isura Devapriya the Chairman, Central Environmental Authority (CEA), the company has been instructed to re-export the waste and this action of re-exporting the waste has been taken in order to avoid the huge environmental impact and pollution due to several types of hazardous waste.
Further, Mr. Devapriya said that currently necessary official work  is being carried out to send  the containers back to the country of origin and the legal action has also been taken by the CEA against the company.
