Introduction of Green Leader Program to National College of Education

The Central Environmental Authority conducts many environment programs for the school students with the support of the Ministry of Education since 1984.

Accordingly, the Central Environmental Authority, Ministry of Education and National Institute of Education collaboratively prepared a program call “Green Leader” to conduct in National College of Education. The main objective of this program was to give a broader knowledge on environment protection and conservation for the training teachers and actively conduct environment programs in the schools. The Central Environmental Authority plan to conduct this program in all National Colleges of Education.

The inauguration program was held on 26^th of March 2024, under the patronage of Hon. Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Education and Hon. Janaka Wakkubura, State Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Environment at the Auditorium, National Institute of Education. Mr. Venura Fernando, Chairman and Mr. Hemantha Jayasinghe, Director General of the CEA, Deans of National Colleges of Education, Lectures, senior officers of the CEA and training teachers participated at the event.
