The Environmental Impact Assessment Unit conducts awareness programs under various subjects with the objective of improving the technical and subject knowledge of the Officers of the CEA.

Accordingly, an awareness program was organized on 13th November 2018 at the CETRAC Institute, Pelawatta for the officers in the EIA unit and officers of CEA provincial offices.

The workshop was organized to give a better understanding of the Marine Eco system, pollution aspects and the role of MEPA in protection & conservation of marine ecosystems. Dr. Tureny Pradeep, Director General, Marine Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA) made his presentation on the role of MEPA and the protection & conservation of the marine Eco system and Mr. Arjan Rajasuriya, Consultant IUCN briefly explained the Eco systems in Sri Lanka and its threats.

Nearly 70 officers participated in the program.
