The Central Environmental Authority and the Environmental Police Unit were able to capture the banned polythene sellers in a raid conducted at the Peoples’ Park, Pettah.
As a continuation of the raiding program, the Central Environmental Authority organized a raiding program to inspect the using of banned polythene in the market. The program was conducted around the People’s Park area Pettah on 18.05.2018. In this session the officers have been done 6 raidings and it has found that 3 whole sellers still selling banned polythene products. Legal action was taken against those 3 sellers.
The Central Environmental Authority continues to operate to provide the punishable offenders before the courts through the day and night raids on the production, sale and use of banned polythene.
