The Roomassala Nature Field is situated in the Roomassala nature reserve hillock and declared open in 2008. The fund for the construction was provided by the John Keels Company and the design has developed by the Architecture Department of the University of Moratuwa that it has minimum impact on the existing environment to blend with the surrounding. It provides facilities for nature recreation and studies and the Center is under the control of Southern Provincial Office of the Central Environmental Authority. The Center provides facilities to study the environment especially for school children that would support school curriculum and areas of interest under one day programs. It facilitates only for 50 nos. individuals at a time for any program. The activities in the surrounding for visitors are extremely limited as it is a biodiversity sensitive area.

The center opened in September 2008 and is situated within the premises of the National Wildlife Training Center in the Giritale Wildlife area. The site is attractive as it is bordering the Giritale Tank and ideal for learning on dry forest ecosystem under one day programs. The center is under the control of Central Provincial Office of the Central Environmental Authority.

Situated at Colombo suburb and facilitate to learn specially on wetland ecosystems. The center has built in a site formerly used as solid waste dump site. Facilitate for 50 nos. individuals at a time. Conduct programs for school children as well as other target groups on the importance of wetland eco-systems their role in maintaining environment balance. Bellanwila – Attidiya provides a nesting place for many migratory birds which are observable in the area during the period from December through February. The Central Environmental Authority conducts combined programs for school children to support various aspects of environment in their education curriculum.

The first nature field center of the Central Environmental Authority functioning in Kegalle District under the control of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Office. The center has facilities for programs for 50 individuals at a time and equipped with computer laboratory, mini Library. Open air theatre provides additional facility to outdoor activities and number of environmentally friendly models such as bio-gas plant, worm culture etc. and educational samples have been established and placed for demonstration.
