- By giving conformity assessment reports in relation to environmental regulatory purposes on requests made by other divisions of CEA.
- By Producing reports pertaining to air, noise, vibration measurement on requests from general public, courts, other divisions.
- By Giving technical inputs in relation to major prescribed projects in EIA/IEA process.
- By delivering technical lectures upon requests made by general public government or private institutions on air quality monitoring, noise and vibration measurements, and water quality monitoring.
- Providing environmental monitoring data for the purpose of Research and development as
well as for the policy making /decision making in economic development.
- Implementation/carrying out ambient water quality monitoring in Sri Lanka
- Implementation/carrying out Ambient air quality monitoring activities in Sri Lanka
- Formulation and reviewing of environmental regulations
- Studying of Trans boundary air pollution and acid rain monitoring
