• To gather data to prepare a database of prescribed activities to control the environmental pollution. This database will enable us to bring the activities which are prescribed as the contributors to the pollution of the environment to our EPL as well as WDF schemes.
  
  
• To access the efficiency of the industrial pollution control by existing environmental regulation for environmental polluting activities.
  
  
• To identify the drawbacks in existing regulation and its implementation.
  
  
• To facilitate towards sustainable development through legal enforcement of the environmental regulations, EPL and Wastewater Discharge Fee (WDF) scheme.
  
  
• To prepare a GIS location map of high, medium and low polluting industries which will be used for planning activities of various ministries.
  
  
• To collect data to prepare an industrial disaster management plan for the areas where many disaster causing industries are located.
